    Argand Energy and Trina Solar Complete 453KW Solar Project in Wake County

    Oct. 17, 2013 - Trina Solar and Argand Energy announced today the completion of a 453KW solar PV system on the rooftop of Exhibit Resources in Raleigh. This project, commissioned in July, is a third-party owned commercial rooftop projects completed in North Carolina without the SunSense incentive.

    Oct. 16, 2013 - Canadian Solar today announced that its subsidiary, Canadian Solar Solutions Inc., has begun construction of the 100MWac Grand Renewable Solar Project. The Grand Renewable Solar Project is being financed by Connor Clark & Lunn Infrastructure and developed by Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. ("Samsung").

    Suncore Acquired Assets of Israel-based ZenithSolar

    October 9, 2013 - Suncore Photovoltaic Technology Company Ltd. today acquired all of the assets of Israel-based ZenithSolar Ltd., including intellectual property, inventory, and equipment, through its US subsidiary Suncore Photovoltaics Inc. Over the past 6 years, ZenithSolar has developed an innovative combined heat and power (CHP) product based on CPV technology, and demonstrated more than 70% combined solar energy conversion efficiency. The system provides electrical output from a photovoltaic array and concurrently generates hot water at a temperature suitable for domestic andindustrial applications. Suncore plans to set up a production line and start mass production of the CHP product in its Huainan, China facility in 2014.

    SolarCity to Acquire Zep Solar

    Oct. 9, 2013 - SolarCity and Zep Solar today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement for SolarCity to acquire Zep Solar for approximately $158 million. The purchase price is payable in shares of SolarCity common stock, and is subject to reduction for the amount of net indebtedness of Zep Solar as of the closing. Upon close of the acquisition, Zep Solar will operate as an independent business unit of SolarCity.

    Juwi Shizen Energy Completes Third Solar Park in Japan

    Oct. 10, 2013 - Juwi Shizen Energy has realized its third solar project in Japan. In Ozu on Kyushu island the joint venture between the German juwi group and the Japanese company Shizen Energy Inc. has recently commissioned a free field solar park. The solar power plant has an installed capacity of 1.1 megawatt (MW). Every year the 4,480 solar modules feed 1,375,000 kilowatt hours (KWh) of climate-friendly electricity into the local grid. This equals the electricity consumption of more than 380 local households. The project in Ozu has been built for a local company.
