    Canadian Solar to Receive C$115.5 Million Loan from National Bank of Canada

    May 2, 2014 - Canadian Solar today announced that the National Bank of Canada will provide the Company with C$115.5 million, in short-term construction financing. The credit facility will be used to support the construction of three solar power projects in Ontario, Canada, totaling 30MW.

    Mitsubishi Electric to Supply Railcar Traction Inverter to Odakyu Electric Railway

    April 30, 2014 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today that it has received an order for its railcar traction inverter with all-silicon carbide (SiC) power modules made with SiC transistors and SiC diodes, which was placed by Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. This is the world's first order for the 3.3kV, 1,500A traction inverter designed for 1,500V DC catenaries.

    AEG Power Solutions Sells Indian Subsidiary to Toshiba Mitsubishi

    April 28, 2014 - AEG Power Solutions today announced that it has sold its Indian subsidiary, AEG Power Solutions India PVT Ltd., to TOSHIBA MITSUBISHI- ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS CORPORATION(TMEIC). AEG PS’s Indian facility is mainly focused on solar inverters manufacturing for the Indian market. The state of the art 80,000 sq. ft. production site in Bangalore has a capacity to manufacture products generating 400MW per year. The business sold involves both manufacturing and sales and represents annual revenues of €12.39 million and 85 employees.

    LDK Solar to Supply 850MW Wafer for Gintech Energy Corporation

    April 29, 2014 - LDK Solar and its Joint Provisional Liquidators announced today that its Chinese Subsidiary has signed a wafer supply agreement with Gintech Energy Corporation. Under the terms of the agreement, Jiangxi LDK Solar will provide wafers totaling 850MW with shipments commencing in April 2014 through March 2018.

    Martifer Solar Awarded PPA for 10MW PV Plant in Jordan

    April 28, 2014 - Martifer Solar was selected for a 10MW project to be built under Round One of Jordan's National Renewable Energy Plan; The 10MW project is financed and co-developed by Adenium Energy Capital; The companies executed a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NEPCO, the national utility of Jordan; and At a PPA tariff of USD $0.169, the PV plant will generate reliable and much cheaper electricity compared to existing fuel oil generation rates.

    E.ON to Build a Large Solar Installation for U.S. Military

    April 25, 2014 - Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and the U.S. Army marked the start of a major renewable energy project at Fort Huachuca, Arizona that will be the Department of Defense's largest solar installation. The 155-acre project leverages private financing and is expected to exceed 18-megawatts of clean power and provide 25 percent of the military base's power. Officials kicked off the project with a groundbreaking ceremony at the base where construction is set to begin in the next few days.
