Hanwha Q CELLS to Supply 26.2MW Solar Modules for Fukushima PV plant
June 3, 2014 - The 26.2MW "Sunny Solar Fukushima Central Plant" will be powered with solar modules from Q CELLS. This was announced by Hanwha Q CELLS Japan, the company entered into a partnership agreement with Sunny Health Co., Ltd. and JFE Engineering Corporation.

June 3, 2014 - First Solar today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Skytron-energy. The acquisition is subject to consent by the German merger control authorities ("Bundeskartellamt"). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ReGreen Completes a Multi-Family Apartment Complex Solar Thermal and PV System Installation
June 3, 2014 - ReGreen has successfully completed a multi-family portfolio solar installation, which was comprised of 112 separate installations of solar thermal (hot water) and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for Goldrich & Kest Industries. The project, which served to retrofit 34 apartment complexes with solar energy solutions, involved the installation of 1,200 Heliodyne solar thermal panels as well as 1,664 solar photovoltaic panels.

SunPower, AE-AMD Complete 33MW Solar Projects in South Africa
June 2, 2014 - SunPower Corp. and AE-AMD Renewable Energy as well as its partners have completed two South African ground-mounted solar projects and are now feeding 33MW into the grid. Both projects, which were constructed by SunPower, are located near Douglas, South Africa in the Northern Cape Province.

Sofos Completes 1.6MW PV Project in Jamaica
June 2, 2014 - Jamaica's hotel, the Grand Palladium, Hanover, has been outfitted with a solar plant. The hotel expects to save over J$80 million in energy cost per year from the installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant by local manufacturer, Sofos Jamaica. The plant was unveiled at the 1,000-room resort last Friday.
