Solargiga and SADA to Build 40MW PV Plant in Ghana
June 27, 2014 - The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), in partnership with DCH Solargiga Company of Germany, has launched a 40MW solar energy plant to augment the national electricity grid to accelerate development in SADAs ecological zone. The 117-million-dollar project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP), under a joint venture of 90 percent and 10 percent respectively of DCH Solargiga and SADA.

SPI Solar to Build 50MW PV Project in China
July 2, 2014 - SPI Solar today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Xinyu Xinwei New Energy Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement with the government of Fenyi County to build and develop a 50MW photovoltaic project in Yangqiao, Fenyi County.

EDF Renewable Energy Announces Operation of 5.86MW Lancaster Solar Project
July 1, 2014 - EDF Renewable Energy today announced that the 5.86MW Lancaster Solar Project has reached commercial operation. EDF Renewable Energy and Urban Green Technologies LLC signed the Membership interest Purchase and Sale Agreement in October 2013 and subsequently started the construction phase in December 2013.

Centrotherm Books New Order for Extensive Technology and Equipment Package for Chinese Customer
July 2, 2014 - With the signing of a supply agreement for a technology and systems package worth a total of around EUR 15 million, centrotherm reports its largest single order in its Photovoltaic & Semiconductor segment. The production systems and the process technology will be shipped to Xian to Chinese customer Shaanxi Non-ferrous Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. from October 2014.

TerniEnergia to Sell Its PV Assets in Italy
June 30, 2014 - TerniEnergia SpA has signed agreements for the sale to Ranalli Immobiliare Srl of the 45% of the share capital of the JV SolTarenti Srl, owner of four utility scale PV plants for an installed capacity of 3.3MW, and the sale of 50% of the share capital of DT Srl, owner of a utility scale PV plant for an installed capacity of about 1MW.

Gestamp Solar to Build 31.6MW Solar Project in Japan
June 30, 2014 - Gestamp Solar today announced its first photovoltaic project in Japan. The utility-scale project, located in Daigo town, will have an installed capacity of 31.6MW over a total area of 40 hectares, and is situated on a former golf course.

AGC Solar Shuts Down Solar Glass Factory in Belgium
June 27, 2014 - AGC Solar announces that the AGC Group has decided to terminate the production of photovoltaic cover glass (patterned glass) at the Roux plant and shut down the plant. The decision was made under the local law on June 26 following due information and consultation with the Works Council and the union organizations which started February 10, 2014.

Mitsubishi Corporation Participates in Shams Ma'an PV Project in Jordan
June 26, 2014 - Mitsubishi Corporation is pleased to announce its participation in the largest solar photovoltaic project in Jordan, Shams Ma'an. The project will be operated by three companies: MC's 100% subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe, Ltd., Nebras Power Q.S.C. and Kawar Group. Equity share will be DGE 35%, Nebras 35% and Kawar 30%. Operations are scheduled to start in early 2016.

Canadian Solar Announces 12.6MW Solar Module Supply Agreement in Turkey
June 30, 2014 - Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it has recently signed a sales contract to supply 12.6MW of photovoltaic modules to Kayseri Organized Industry Zone (KOIZ) and a consortium of companies in KOIZ for a solar power project located in Kayseri, Turkey.
