Silicor Materials, Inc. today announced the signing of a contract with AM Technical Solutions (AMTS) for the project management of Silicor's first commercial-scale plant in Grundartangi, Iceland. The project is expected to break ground before the end of 2016 and be fully operational by 2019. -

Toshiba Wins 33.5MW Solar Power Plant Contract in Japan
Toshiba Corporation has been awarded a contract by Thailand's Gunkul Engineering Public Co. Ltd. to construct a mega-solar power plant in Kimitsu, Chiba prefecture, Japan. The plant, scheduled to commence operation by March 2019, will have a power generation capacity of roughly 33.5MW. The contract has a total value of 9 billion yen. -

Canadian Solar Signs PPA for 63MW Solar Power Project in Mexico
Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it has signed a Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA") for the 63MW solar power plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico with the Federal Electricity Commission (Comision Federal de Electricidad, "CFE"). This project was awarded in April 2016 under the Mexico's First Long Term Electricity Auction and it is expected to generate electricity by September 2018. All the electricity generated will be sold to the CFE under the PPA for a 15-year period and related Clean Energy Certificates for a 20-year period.
