Isolux Corsan Group takes hold in the strategic US market with the award of the Kayenta Solar Project located on the Navajo Nation and in the State of Arizona by the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority. The engineering, procurement and construction contract is valued at more than USD 50 million.

The Kayenta Solar Project, located north of Kayenta, AZ, will occupy an area of approximately 210 acres and will consist of 119,301 photovoltaic panels on single axis trackers and 13 power blocks. The plant's output will be 27.3MWac/37.6MWdc, enough energy to service approximately 13,000 homes. The service lifetime of the plant will be 25 years during which time it will generate up to 1,900GWh of energy. When completed, it will be operating on the 27,000 square mile Navajo Nation.

The major benefits of the project include generating renewable energy for the Navajo Nation and boosting the local economy. Job creation and spending in the area will rise because of the construction and 25 years of operation and maintenance of the plant afterwards.
