Solarcentury to Build 858kW Solar Carport in Africa
Solarcentury is to design and construct Africa's largest solar carport on the uppermost storey of a car park at Garden City Mall, part of the new 32-acre integrated residential, retail park, hotel and office development on Nairobi's Thika Superhighway. The clean solar electricity generated by the 858kW system will be used by the retail tenants. The solar installation will be financed under NVI Energy's Solar4Africa, a 12 year financed solution that enables Garden City to harness the power of renewable energy. -

SMA O&M and Central Inverters Selected for 140MW Solar Plant in Canada
Kingston Solar LP has selected SMA operations and maintenance (O&M) services and central inverters for its 140MW DC photovoltaic system in Kingston, Ontario. SMA Service will assume operational management of the Kingston Solar project upon commercial operation, and for the next decade. Canadian Solar Completes 1.2MW PV Solar Power Plant at Shibushichocho in Japan
Canadian Solar Inc. today announced the completion of the 1.2MW (DC) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at Shibushichocho, Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. Powered by Canadian Solar CS6P-255P modules, the plant will generate approximately 1,533MWh of clean, emission-less solar electricity per year. The electricity generated from the project will be purchased by Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. under a 20 year feed-in-tariff contract at the rate of 40.00 yen ($0.37) per kWh. -

Hosola New Energy Win 45MW Photovoltaic Power Station Project in UK
Hosola New Energy and the Moss Electrical formally signed the 45MW photovoltaic power station supply contract in Suzhou. According to the contract, Hosola New Energy will supply 616 units of Hosola Sunray 60KTL respectively for 13MW and 32MW photovoltaic power station located in Horsemoor Drove Sutton St. James in the next three months.
