Borrego Solar Systems Completes 6MW Solar Array on Massachusetts Brownfield
Borrego Solar announced the completion of solar brownfield facility under the Massachusetts SREC II solar energy incentive program. Developed by Borrego, Syncarpha Capital and Renewable Energy Massachusetts (REM), the 6MW solar PV array is up and producing clean, renewable electricity on the site of the former Palmer Metropolitan Airfield. -

Exosun to Equip 2 PV Plants Totaling 13.5MW in the South of France

sPower and Salt River Project today announced the opening of sPower Sandstone Solar. SRP is purchasing all 45MW of the solar energy produced at the facility, which is owned and operated by sPower, a Utah-based independent power producer. -

Enel Green Power Begins Construction of 1.7MW PV Plant in Chile
Enel Green Power has started building the innovative 1.7MW La Silla solar photovoltaic plant in northern Chile, named after the neighbouring astronomical observatory it will supply with its clean energy. The PV project and the observatory are located on a mountain near La Higuera, a town in the Coquimbo region that is on the outskirts of the Atacama Desert, 600km north of Santiago. -

SunEdison to Install 2.2MW PV System in Northern California
SunEdison, Inc. today announced it has signed a solar power purchase agreement with Stockton East Water District in Northern California. SunEdison plans to install 2.2MW of SunEdison solar panels on the water district's property. By going solar, the district expects to save more than $9.5 million on energy costs over the next 20 years and 20 million gallons of water annually. -

Canadian Solar Energises Three Solar Power Plants in Japan
Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it started the commercial operation of three solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Japan, totaling approximately 6.2MW. The 6.2MW portfolio of projects include the 2.3MW Ashikita Solar Power Plant in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, the 2.2MW Minamishimabara Power Plant - East and the 1.7MW Minamishimabara Plant - West in Minamishimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture. -

Solarcentury Connects 9.9MW Solar Farm in Panama
Solarcentury has connected solar farm in Panama to the spot market, in Coclé province, central Panama. The 9.9MW ‘Divisa Solar' system is to be connected to the country's national grid, and is now generating enough clean solar electricity to power around 3,000 homes. By adding clean solar energy to the national grid, the system is preventing the release of more than 4,850 tons of CO2 annually.
