March 11, 2014 – Hanwha Q CELLS supplies more than 40,000 of its Q CELLS Q.Pro-G3 modules for a 10MW solar power plant in Somerset, UK. The purpose of the plant is to export solar electricity into the grid. The plant will produce enough clean energy to power around 3,000 households. The installation of the 10MW plant has been completed by the end of February 2014. Solarcentury is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).

"After successfully completing our previous project in Hardingham together with Hanwha Q CELLS, we decided to use the high-quality Q.PRO-G3 modules again for another solar park in the UK," said Frans van den Heuvel, CEO of Solarcentury. "Hanwha Q CELLS has impressive production facilities and excellent service. We appreciate the flexibility provided by working with a European manufacturing partner."

Solarcentury decided in favor of the Q.PRO-G3 modules for the project in Somerset due to their high-yield and robustness. Hanwha Q CELLS' bankability and expertise were additional decision-making criteria. The new solar power plant underlines Hanwha Q CELLS' commitment to the European market, including the UK.

"We are pleased to implement another project together with Solarcentury. The solar power plant will deliver 10MWh of clean energy, contributing significantly to the area's CO2 reduction. In general, we are seeing an increased demand for our "Engineered in Germany" products," said Jonathan Goose, Director Sales UK, Ireland and Scandinavia at Hanwha Q CELLS.
